Elding Oscarson is a new architectural venture based in Stockholm, set up by Johan Oscarson and Jonas Elding - both owners of pretty impressive CV's.
With collective experience ranging from the design of museums and private houses, to furniture and product design, plus significant spells at leading architecture firms, (SANAA and Sandellsandberg to name two) their own office looks like one to watch for interesting and creative designs.
Take a look at this townhouse in Landskrona - one of their projects which has caught our eye.
It's a great solution to a narrow site, sandwiched between very old neighbouring buildings, and a design which maximises light and living space rather cleverly.
Despite the ultra-modern appearance of the townhouse, its proportions don't jar with its historic surroundings and we think this is a rather successful contemporary insert to a traditional street.
And successful in terms of living comfort too.
Internally, three thin slabs have been projected into the open volume, softly dividing its functions, yet retaining the feeling of a continuous interior space which opens up to the street, to an intimate garden, and to the sky.
