If you've not seen these then we think you should...
Spanish-born architect Santiago Calatrava has collaborated with the New York City Ballet for their 2010 Spring season festival of new choreography, 'Architecture of Dance'; marking his first work for the stage.
Strong in form, yet with light sweeping lines and graceful movement, Calatrava’s structures, much like his architecture; don’t sit on the ground but dance above it.
The Architecture of Dance festival included seven world premiere ballets, five of which included sets designed by Calatrava. Four new scores were also commissioned for the festival.
We'd like to see more architects get involved with designing scenography for the stage. Any thoughts on dream pairings guys?
