Here's the latest project by Point Supreme Architects called 'Marble Mural'; recently created for the 2010 edition of the Interior Design Show on the office's home turf in Athens.
The eyecatching structure is a hymn to marble in all its guises - a ten by two metre wall consisting of marble pieces of different origin, natural history, colour, texture and image.
These marble pieces were treated with various traditional and digital techniques of workmanship that mingle with the inherent material narrations.
Holes, hidden and visible cuts, light, two and three dimensional relief, digital and handmade print, as well as imagery from the past and the future were all created and manipulated to build the final work.
Consequently, marble is revealed not as the clean and current matter it's usually assumed to be, but instead, as a rich, thick live object that hides and reveals stories.
