Take a look at this new Hotel in Ilheus, near Bahia, in Brazil, located in the middle of the Atlantic Forest.
Makenna Resort was opened last year by Thilo Scheuermann, a German businessman who (understandably) fell in love with the spectacular forest and beach of the Brazilian coast.
Leaving behind his former life, Scheuermann moved permanently to the complex.
The project as a whole consists of a group of buildings which includes a set of bungalows, a spa, and a social central building, arranged rather like a soft urbanisation.
All these structures have the same aim; to provide continuity between inside and out.
To do this, Drucker Arquitetura created a theme that runs throughout all the different structures - a continuous huge slab of a floor and a roof, and large open 'window' spaces without glass.
A program of long horizontal lines and precise forms in materials such as concrete makes for a sophisticated yet uncomplicated development that seriously makes the most of the surrounding natural beauty of the area.
