We don't know if we love this for it's crazyness, or hate it for its ugliness, but it sure is eye-catching.
Located in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, the building for Aoyama Technical College, by architect Makoto Sei Watanabe was apparently developed from a process of self-organisation in an attempt to define an emergent urban form for Tokyo. Although this is the first time we've seen this, it's not a new project (designed in the late 80s - which explains a lot. Did anyone have these as a kid?) and mercifully this urban form never took hold.
Yet the Gundam impulse is still alive and kicking in Japan - we hear robotics expert Takayuki Furata wants to build a six-storey tall battle robot, costing it out at around $742 million.
Bill Gates, we're looking at you.
