COMPOSING TOTEMS

Opening on July the 27th and running until the end of August at the Valencia Institute of Modern Art is a new solo show by Wang Xieda.

These latest works showcase Xieda's exquisite and restful classical style as well as the well-turned and innovative rhyme of the aesthetic roots of China. For these reasons, his painting and sculpture construct concise and unpredictable moulds through simple lines.

Wang explores an aesthetic feeling that is pure and abstract through visual forms, for example totems and primitive calligraphic symbols; grasping the dimension’s cadence and composing the rhythm of the space.

Dealing with the complex and constantly changing 21st century, Xieda's works posess a calmness and confidence in addition to a magnificent reproduction of national aesthetics.
