Opening tomorrow evening and on show until the 8th of January is a new exhibition of contemporary jewellery works at Galerie Rob Koudjis in Amsterdam.

Works by Bettina Dittlmann and Michael Jank will be exhibited in a show entitled 'Xxooxxooxxoox', whilst a selection of work from Ruudt Peters (an artist jeweller the gallery are now representing) will be presented seperately by way of an introduction to his work.

Dittlmann and Jank forge rings; unpolished, archaic and monumental, using a technique which is timeless.

Appearing like archaeological finds eroded by time, sometimes their texture is refined and delicate - but these works are intended to remain and be worn for eternity: hence the name 'Foreverrings'.

Unusually, Dittlmann and Jank create their jewellery designs jointly (most jewellers and artists work alone) but Dittlmann also makes her own individual designs. In every sense these are the opposite to the gnarled rings.

Her jewellery is subtle, almost fragile. They are frail 'sketches' in metal wire, often covered with an equally delicate enamel.

The exhibition will also be accompanied by the book 'Unsere Sicht Der Ringe' (or, 'The Way Rings Go') which is a publication about the work of Dittlmann and Jank.
