The boy from Wales who wowed us in the late nineties with those super sparkly gowns and bright colours sent his models down the London catwalk in clothes that not just announced his comeback from a fashion backseat, but positively growled it through bared teeth.
Julian McDonald produced quite a varied collection this season (with a few grey-hued looks even seeming a little out of place), but the unifiying theme was clearly glam punk, which beautifully tied together his famous penchant for crystal embellishment and fashion's current dark, 80s mood. There was much Debbie Harry would have slung on at a moments notice during the height of her fame: black bodycon, killer buckled boots, strong shoulder shapes, shredded knits and tight, tight, trousers. If this is McDonald's new direction, we'll be watching very closely.
