The Kings of the Chandelier, Barovier & Toso will be presenting some exclusives at Euroluce, the most important international lighting trade fair that will be taking place in Milan as part of the Salone del Mobile 2009.
Here's a preview of two pieces designed by Franco Raggi and Daniela Puppa to give you a taster. With a morphology that makes us think of jellyfish, Topkapi is Daniela Puppa's family of ceiling lamps characterised by the contrast between the large diffuser with its modern form made of sandblasted white glass ‐ which diffuses a soft light ‐ and the classic crystal glass pendants, either transparent or with bright colours that shine as an effect of the direct irradiation.
Whilst Puppa seems to have looked to the sea for inspiration, Franco Raggi has developed Vanderbilt - a style that harks back to 50s dining rooms in elegant New York apartments in our minds. Ten chromed steel branches of different lengths support thick glass ribbed spheres of considerable thickness that contain and diffuse the light source and four colour schemes will be available.
