They'll be at the Salone del Mobile this year, so M.E. asked Stefania Bosio of Buzzispace a few questions about her predictions for this year's edition. Here's what she had to say...
What does exhibiting at the Salone del Mobile mean for you? How would you describe the positives (and maybe negatives?) of the experience?
I was one of the first P.R.'s that believed, 11 years ago, in the new concept of the Fuorisalone Zona Tortona. I had the opportunity to see this exhibition become more and more important and interesting year after year. It’s absolutely amazing to see all the streets of that area became a huge design kermesse.
We're sorry, it has to be asked - How do you think the current economic situation will affect the climate in the design world, and particularly this year's Milan Salone? Do you foresee any positive or negative knock on effects or adaptations that might happen as a result?
Honestly I don’t know. I went to the preview press conference of Zonatortona where the organisation showed the new three big areas (Porta Romana, Genova train station and the Parenti theatre) that they need for the exhibitors. It seems a good sign.
Is there anything you're especially looking forward to at this year's Salone? Can you let us in on the stands you'll be checking out for yourself/selves or new names to watch?
Normally the Belgian collective is very interesting. This year we will also have the Portuguese collective for the first time. I’m also really curious to see IKEA. Frau , Cappellini ……..and obviously BUZZISPACE .COM!
And of course, its not all work! Where do you think this year's best Salone party will be?
The “Interni” special event…as every year. Frau, Cappellini, and Swarovski seem like they will be “The Event”.
