TIFFANY POP

For more than 100 years Tiffany-lamps have never really changed neither in shape nor in pattern.

With Tiffany Flowers Ding3000 reanimated this old-fashioned subject by means of contemporary shapes and materials. The German design company launched the lamp at this year's Milan Salone at the Hidden Heroes exhibit in Superstudio Piu. Ding3000 aimed to rediscover the traditional Tiffany technique behing the classic lamps - a process that enables huge quantities of complex, large, colourful and richly detailed light fittings to be produced in an economic way. By setting a starting point to lend Tiffany a new fascination with the help of alternative joining techniques, new materials and a contemporary design, the designers created a new piece, made out of more than 500 laser cut acrylic glass pieces joined by an environmentally friendly PU-coating.
