These chairs are some of German designer Philippe Krzyzek's newest works, which he recently exhibited at the 2009 DMY Design Festival in Berlin.

Chunky, and bold, both the metal and wood variants give the appearance of being hewn from huge blocks like sculpture. Not a design for those of you fond of swinging back on your chair legs, but if you like your furniture beautifully substantial with an air of permanance about it, these pieces are just the ticket.
