Densely populated public places are sometimes the loneliest and most individualistic places in the world, and The Union bench arrives out of necessity for people moving separately but together.

It's the work of Jangir Maddadi Design Bureau, who'll be exhibiting at Code 09 as part of year's Copenhagen design week. Initially conceived as street furniture, they've also created an indoor version, and a desk to encourage group interaction at home and at work too. Other products include a smaller side table and a planter, both echoing the rounded organic lines of the original concept.
