Dar en Art, a design firm focusing on young Moroccan creative talent showed two great new pieces at Maison & Objet 2009, both of which we think you should see...

First up is a bookcase called La Ruche (the Hive) designed by Mostapha el Oulhani exclusively for Dar en Art. The wooden hexagonal module is lacquered, and features a drilled motif which makes reference to the Moucharabieh, perfectly mixing modern design with a classic archetype.

Also on show was the 'Mock' table by Naïm Mahdi in brilliantly shiny lacquered beech. M.E. loves the hand-sculptured eclecticism of the table legs - it comes in black too but we think white gives it a contemporary, playful feel.
