Here's a peek at Joe Velluto's 'Ministerial' collection which he'll be showing in Milan at the Salone this year.

The new chair will be shown during Design Addicted at Spazio Ponti, Via Tortona 31 this week.

Velluto's collection of furniture - comprising of a chair, a lamp, a stool, and a table - was apparently inspired by the "objects of the state body, municipal and public offices, and waiting rooms."

Usually, these are spaces furnished with anonymous and almost 'invisible' objects; discreet things that give hospitality to hopes and rights of the citizens. This kind of well-designed, but purposely anonymous furniture is rooted in practicality - without the false trappings of luxury. Velluto has taken what he calls the genre's "common spirit" and refined the aesthetic into pieces that are in service of the individual and his rights.

Quietly good-looking and elegant in form; we're finding these very 'civil' indeed...
