SURREAL GROUPE

Italian furniture manufacturers, Baleri Italia has built its reputation on high quality collaborations with talented designers and some newly acquired muscle after Nino Cerruti acquired the company, bringing a formidable textile knowledge to the company.

At this years Milan Salone del Mobile, Cerruti Baleri launched a small range of new products (quality not quantity) including Alberto Colzani’s hide leather armchair 'Medea', a black marble column container called 'Plato Alto' by Jeff Miller and Benedetto Quaquaro’s modular bookcase 'Tok'.

But it's a rather unexpected collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela which has caught our eye.

This time last year, the Maison made it's first venture into home products - a move that seems to be comething they are looking to continue.

The Italian company edited two products designed by Maison Martin Margiela; 'Groupe', a surrealist sofa that incorporates three armchairs, and 'Emmanuelle', an armchair wrapped in white cotton canvas.

Ironic and iconic, the two products seem to accurately represent Maison Martin Margiela's increasingly trademark interior style, whilst incorporating Cerruti baleri’s quality principle and and Nino Cerruti’s fabrics.

Thoughts?
