Continue Time is a kinetic artwork and functional clock which was launched during the Salone del Mobile 2010 by Dutch designer Sander Mulder.
The concept for the piece was actually born by accident - Mulders' office clock fell, causing the minutes and second pointer to come off, and lie in the transparent cover.
Witnessing the random patterns that occurred while the hour pointer still rotated, Mulder was inspired to create this visual effect in a new clock. While creating mesmerizing patterns on the wall, the thunderbolt-style pointers are still read like a traditional clock.
The widest pointer (attached to the clockwork) shows the hours, the medium sized pointer (attached to the hour pointer) shows the minutes, and the smallest pointer (attached to the minute pointer) shows the seconds.
Made in a worldwide limited edition of 40 pieces, plus one artist proof.
