These powder coated steel 'Reading Tables' by Uli Budde make us think of little tug boats in shape with their roundy edges, and are another of the pieces which caught our eye at this month's DMY Berlin design festival.
A combination of side table and magazine rack has been arranged in a logical combination to resolve a problem in a simple and unobtrusive way. The central island is a practical surface for placing coffee, plates, sketchbook, or laptop whilst the bit that wraps around is a storage space for books and magazines.
The outside rim also serves as a bookmark when taking a break from reading and the tables also come in a couple of sizes, making them ideal for pretty much any space; be it living room, bedroom or waiting room.
Neat.
