'Sinus' pepper mill

DOUBLE WHAMMY

French design firm Petite Friture, like their countrymen Atelier Polyhedre will be hitting both the London Design Festival and Maison et Objet in Paris this month.

They'll be showing these two new pieces for your table; a vase set called 'Ikebana' by Edward Robinson, and also Jens Fager's minimal pepper mill called 'Sinus'.

'Ikebana' is a set of ceramic and aluminium vases with their root in Japanese flower arrangement. Available in three different sizes, the lid; with one, two or three slots, allows the user to place flowers in an arrangement that suits its individual eye - in a continuous line or in strong forms.

The matt finish on the exterior of the vase acts as a contrast to the waterproof gloss of the inner voids.

'Sinus' is ultimately a supremely practical piece, with the name derived from the profile shape of the mills.

Inspired by clinical functionality, the softened curve brings a tactile and firm grip. Handsome and durable, this table piece is definitely a no-frills affair.
