If you didn't catch these pieces in Milan at the Salone, then you've got a second chance in Paris, and a third in New York...

They're from a series called 'Autarchy' - comprised of brooms, bowls and other folk craft objects by young Italian designers Simone Farresin and Andrea Trimarchi of Studio Formafantasma.

'Autarchy' pays homage to the uncomplicated, the simple and the everyday, outlining a hypothetical scenario where nature is personally cultivated, harvested and processed to feed and make tools to serve human necessities.

The collection of functional vessels and lamps are produced with a bio-material composed of 70% flour, 20% agricultural waste, and 10% natural limestone; coloured with dyes obtained naturally from plant matter.

From today until the 7th of September, some of these vessels are on show as part of 'Archaic Shelter'; an exhibition at Maison & Objet curated by Elizabeth Leriche at Paris Nord Villepinte, Hall 3.

After that, across the pond, a smaller and more intimate recreation of the entire Autarchy installation will form part of 'Make Me' - a craft-orientated exhibition curated by Murray Moss which opens on the 15th at 150 Green Street in New York.
