The word ‘mall’ may conjour up images of teenage gangs, escalators, and other undesirables, but Dubai’s malls are a little different. The BurJuman for instance, houses three hundred stores ranging from BHS to Hermes, whereas the Mall of The Emirates has an equally huge array of outlets plus an indoor ski slope! However, don’t expect an indoor Bond Street, as here there are more affordable brands than designer boutiques. That said, luxury still abounds. Whilst you may feel lavish whilst splashing out on a set of Hermés luggage, in a mall where jewellery stores sell items for as much as $1.2 million a piece then you’re quite possibly not going to be the most extravagant spender in town.
