A LOAD OF RUBBISH

A LOAD OF RUBBISH

A load of rubbish? Well actually, yes. Which is exactly why we're recommending it.

Jeruselem-born, NYC-resident artist, educator and digital developer Daniel Rozin will be showing a 'Trash Mirror' created from waste matter that he found in New York. As an interactive artist Rozin creates installations and sculptures that have the unique ability to change and respond to the presence and point of view of the viewer; so in the case of this mirror piece, when you stand in front of it, you can hear and see the waste material rustling and slowly reflecting your shape.

Even though computers are often used in Rozin's work, they are seldom visible. As an educator, Rozin is Associate Art Professor at ITP, Tisch School Of The Arts, NYU. As developer, Rozin owns Smoothware Design, a software company that creates tools for the interactive art and multimedia authoring community.

His work has been exhibited widely with solo exhibitions in the US and internationally and his work has earned him numerous awards including Prix Ars Electronica, ID Design Review and the Chrysler Design Award.

Now open to view at the 5MinutenMuseum in the heart of the Dutch Design Festival (Strijp-X, Klokgebouw) in Eindhoven, we think this piece is worth seeing in person.
