Here's another final project from the Design Academy Eindhoven graduate show (be prepared - we've seen A LOT of nice design here so expect to hear about it over the coming days...) this time from Bram Burger, who graduated in May from the Academy's Man and Living department with a BA.
'Wall and Piece' was conceived as a piece of furniture as meeting point. The oak frame supports steel plates at cleverly considered heights: sitting height, table height, counter height, bar height and the highest plate at a height which you can just about reach. Super functional, (although pet owners beware - this looks like paradise for cats) and all executed in a sparing and contemporary, yet slightly 50s finish.
Bram used five standard positions that are dictated by the human size and used them to create a piece of furniture whose different functions come together in a self-evident way. Wall and Piece is a chair, table, bar, cupboard and room divider in one.
We'll be honest, we want one of these for ourselves.
