A FIRM GRIPP

With the 80s firmly established as the sartorial bandwagon to jump on for the forseeable future, we've seen all kinds of reincarnations of the decade recently - the good, the bad, and the plain old ugly. This collection, however, sits very firmly into the first category, beautifully mixing key 80s shapes (body-con, narrow trousers, razor sharp shoulders) with a modern sensibility. It's from an Australian label called Gripp, based in Melbourne and inspired this season by everything from the occult 1980's vampire flick "The Hunger" to Bowie's Berlin period and the synthesized club sounds of Depeche Mode.

A little bit Alexander Wang, a little bit Balmain, and quite a lot rock n' roll, M.E. recommends you get a serious Gripp on your wardrobe.
