Achingly hip fashion brand Acne lifted the lid on their women's SS 2010 collection a short while ago, and whilst it instantly induced frenzy in many a fashion blogger - we needed a little more time to digest just what was going on...
Bright, light, and distinctly new-age hippie, the look is certainly a step a way from last season's leather-clad bad girl; but then Acne's summer woman is no angel either apparently. Fringing, silver armoured pieces, chiffon-y light fabrics and super tight body-con; it all strikes us as a little bit 70s Californian with a hint of Indian gap year, tied together of course, with that trademark Euro-cool which Acne seem to excel at collection after collection.
And you know what? It actually took us a while, but we like it.
There is much here for the fashionista, (metallic knees! hard-to-wear tan colours! nude leggings!) but also plenty of individual pieces for civillians that have just the right level of non-basic-ness.
Suede jacket, sure, maybe, but suede jacket with a perfect shoulder shape and fringey tassels? Yes please.
