What would you say to swimming in an old blanket? No?

What about if it looked like this?

Well, be exact, we're not talking blankets, more like bedsheets really - which is exactly what this swimwear line from Billy and Lola is made from.

Australian designer Ruth Ziller has created this super cute retro inspired line of swimsuits and bikinis under the brand name Billy & Lola. Using fabrics sourced from vintage markets, (and apparently it was bedsheets which she found to be the most suitable) she's come up with seven dfferent styles; ranging from a strapless one-piece with a high waist to fifties style bikini bottoms with bandeau top.

And if the idea of recycling fabric in itself isn't environmentally friendly enough, Ziller is donating a portion of the profit to an Australian marine conservation society that aims to protect Australia’s coast line.

We're not quite sure if they'd stand up to serious swimming, but for a quick dip or posing by the pool we think these would fit the bill nicely.
