Taking inspiration from his part-Austrian heritage, Marios Schwab explored a slightly less body-con than usual silhouette for his A/W 2010 show at London Fashion Week.
Part swinging 60s secretary, part traditional dirndl girl, we really liked some of the bolder pieces here.
Those that especially stood out were the furry cut-out jackets and tightly corseted mini dresses, and one ensemble; in pure white with an origami trimmed neckline and waist, was a very covetable exercise in beautifully spare detailing. Never mind about winter. We want that frock for spring.
There were plenty of jewel colours in the mix too - always nice to see in the usual sea of A/W blacks and greys - whilst splashes of rich tapestry added a luxe folkloric element to his contemporary spin on regional dress.
We expect that this neat little shape (definitely girly but far from twee) will sell like hotcakes, but more than that, M.E. is expecting to see an upsurge of braces and on the streets in the coming months too.
