For those of you seeking a little authenticity when it comes to your knitwear, may we direct you towards the lovely S.N.S Herning, who aside from having a satisfyingly traditional-sounding name, are also the purveyors of some very fine woollies indeed.

Founded in 1931 in Herning, Denmark, S.N.S. Herning has been knitting their renowned fisherman's sweater ever since they opened their factory doors.

Still using machinery from the 50s (no modern contraption has yet out-performed it in their opinion) they still make woollen sweaters to the same patterns, and with the son of the founder now at the helm, those tried and tested traditional techniques are still resulting in the ultimate in nautical kit.
