Earlier in the year we pointed out that the 70s were about to seriously encroach on our wardrobes, and here, courtesy of 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2011, we seem have the final stage of this trend evolution.

Where Celine was graphic, clean cut and modern, Lim chose camel and cream hues, soft, wispy midi dresses and versatile jackets to make up the bulk of his collection.

We also noticed a great deal of one shoulder dresses too - classy, but still fun and youthful - which we liked a lot; and the same goes for a leather romper which despite doubts about practicality, looked right on trend.

Lim allegedly looked to 70s style icon Bianca Jagger for inspiration here and we think that's no bad thing.

In fact, there was even a perfectly updated version of her now infamous white suit...
