Couture shows are traditionally the most lavish of events on the fashion calendar - and what can be more lavish than filling the Grand Palais in Paris with an enormous golden lion as a set piece?
Fabulous.
And who else to do it than Karl Lagerfeld, who came up with a fantastic couture collection for Chanel this season.
We loved the key sillhouette - a short top half overlaid on skirted bottoms - and the tousled hair matched with fresh, youthful make-up.
But whilst the make-up was minimal, the clothes were rich.
Shades of maroon, navy, and camel had a deliciously autumnal feeling to them - augmented by velvet, fur and twinkling crystal trims.
Pattern came in the form of embroidery, and as the show progressed, the theme of geometric metallics crept in; culminating in a dress of gilded squares worn by a leonine, blond, and particularly fierce-looking Anja Rubik...
