SEASIDE STYLE

We've been fans of NYC label Hanii Y for some time now, but with the sun shining though the windows at the M.E. offices, now seemed the right moment to post up their sunny Resort 2011 collection.

In fact, Resort as a whole this year has been a rather interesting affair, with many labels dishing out full collections as strong and directional as the traditional A/W, S/S shows.

And Hanii Y was no different, drawing inspiration from the birthplace of Christian Dior - the French resort destination of Granville.

The Normandy seaside town clearly inspired the sweet-but-chic palette of blues and neutrals, but we were relieved to see a clever twist on nauticalia.

No predicable stripes and anchors here, but dresses, woven, or with rope cording instead and also some hooded 'oilskins' which managed to tap straight into the minimal sportswear vibe we've been noticing of late too.
