Designer Adam Lippes Spring 2011 collection is disparate to say the least. Striding down the New York catwalk came uber feminine lacy dresses, hard-edged leather shirts, retro high-waisted flares, sporty outwear and minimal city chic separates.
And somehow it worked as an entity.
Perhaps this had to do with a unifying palette of pleasingly 'off'' colours like tomato red and yellowy beiges, or perhaps the cropped top half/voluminous bottom half silhouette that ran throughout.
But most likely, perhaps it has to do with the fact that there was a shape, a fabric and a garment to suit pretty much every woman and every occasion, with a clever, modern and relevant twist to each piece.
We give this a big M.E. thumbs up.
