PUNK DELUXE

Reed Krakoff's Spring 2011 collection was a strong one. Strong in shapes, strong in colour choice and strong in attitude.

Amid the blood red, sharp white and slick noir were some 'punk gone posh' silhouettes, which recalled both nineties mimimalism and a sort of a luxury DIY kind of element.

Plenty of leather (de rigueur for punks) and apron-style dresses, although the femininity was still there in the neat touch of a girly frill around the heels.

We loved the sheers and the gilded sequins, but M.E. reckons it will be the high-necked dresses and wrap over cuts which will be the signature hits from this collection.

Reed Krakoff might be a relatively new label on the catwalks, but it's one to keep an eye on for sure.
