Opening at the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow on November 12th (that'll be tomorrow!) is an exciting new exhibition for you fashion fiends out there.
Called 'Dysfashional', the show runs until December the 5th and features commissioned artistic works by some of the most talented designers working in fashion today.
Expect creative, diverse pieces from Hussein Chalayan, Bernhard Willhelm, Raf Simons, Maison Martin Margiela and BLESS plus some special new works by David Koma & Gaspard Yurkievich; encompassing an eclectic range of media including film, collage, performance, sculpture, installation and music.
Staged like a construction site, the exhibition explores complex issues of identity, presenting the viewer with the plural expressions that inform the backdrop of the fashion world - the setting in which fantasy becomes reality.
Luca Marchetti and Emanuele Quinz, curators of the exhibition explain:
“Dysfashional was conceived as a site where the exhibition space becomes an experimental space, an exploration ground for both the artists and visitors. As a fashion exhibition which does not exhibit clothing, Dysfashional shows that fashion is, beyond the objects that materialize it, an unstable state of sensibility”.
