CELINE PRE-FALL 2011

We noted that last season's offering from Celine was a more detailed affair than we were expecting, and it seems Phoebe Philo is continuing to explore this niche by the looks of her latest collection for the house.

Pre-Fall 2011 has just made its debut, and although we fell hard for the minimalist leanings of her first few collections, M.E. loves this even more.

Patchworked Japanese denim, sheeny metallics, leather and even tweedy colour clashing all feature, but somehow, even though the colours are rather bold, it's pulled together in the best possible taste. We're not quite sure how edgy and classic have been melded here, yet they unmistakably are.

Of course, there's still plenty of evidence that Philo's not abandoned her trademark sharp cuts (hello perfect overcoat) but there's something a bit different happening here.
