For Pre-Fall 2011, Thakoon demonstrated a soft, clean approach with a collection featuring a blend of elongated languid lines and sheer detailing.
Mixing punchy shades of red with gray, cream, navy and black made for a bold, yet none too outlandish palette. There were more elaborate prints too, such as tiger dot (shown on a wool angora cape jacket) which added a sophisticated verve to the collection as a whole.
Texture is also something Thakoon has been playing with for the upcoming season, with an array of nubby boucles contasted with smooth georgettes and sheer chiffon panels.
It's that kind of subtle sensuality, most evident in the silk dresses, which makes for an extremely contemporary silhouette.
And the shoes - a selection of sturdy cut-out gladiator styles in black pony, red or deep brown leather - serve as the perfect punctuation to this statement.
