Fashion designer Veronica B Vallenes recently scooped the 2011 Max Factor New Talent Award - and the reason why was pretty evident during her A/W 2011 presentation in Copenhagen's City Hall last week.

Vallenes sent a stream of models down the catwalk as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week's schedule draped in a uber-luxurious selection of sheeny silks and wools, ranging from darkest black, to snow white; via some exquisite shades of blush and berry.

Loosely cut, and neatly cropped velvet pants, wrap cloaks, and flowing tunics all came together to build up a slightly retro (30s, 50s, 80s - the references were myriad but well-chosen) and terribly expensive looking collection that simultaneously had an easiness to it thanks to all those soft volumes.

Essentially, Vallenes dreamed up some seriously beautiful eveningwear to slip on and look 'done'  - without committing that fashion sin of trying too hard.

One to definitely keep an eye on...
