JONATHAN SAUNDERS A/W 2011

The shapes may have been rather prim and proper, but Jonathan Saunders collection for A/W 2011 was a perfectly balanced riot of colour and print - shooing any notion of fuddy duddy right out of the room.

The show was a bit of a highlight in London's Fashion week for us, and Saunders also chose to mix in a handful of men's looks amid the women's dresses.

The collection was a distinctly feminine one and blocks of brights - orangey red, emerald green and turquoise - were made even more eyecatching through the use of sheeny fabrics, with the inclusion of floral and geometric prints overlaid or merged on a single piece.

Styling tips we loved included the narrow little belts over jackets, collars buttoned to the top and ankle straps on heels.

All in all, the hemlines might have been at a sensible level, but the fashion credentials of this collection are sky high.
