THE EDGE OF THE EARTH

Take a look at this fresh, and previously unpublished, fashion editorial from art director Raphael Soria, photographer Le Pagliaro, beauty artist Rafael Senna and stylist Paulo Zelenka.

Entitled 'Edge of The Earth', dark, apocalyptic glamour was the order of the day for the Rio de Janerio-based team:

"The starting point came from the idea of mixing two worlds: the natural, indigenous and mystical, with sadomasochism and sensuality. These two atmospheres have given us good reflections on how two worlds, so different from each other, could be mixed due to a collapse that the world is heading for." says Soria of his concept for the shoot.

"This cultural mixture and an existential collapse in the society occur thanks to globalization. To represent this subject, we chose an inhospitable place, a quarry, which has an air of destruction, as if we were taken back to another world."

The location provided the perfect and original landscape for the shoot; it's giant stone walls and large pyramids have, according to Soria, never been captured on film before.

However, the spot was not without its difficulties; dust from the stone whipped up by the wind meant the whole shoot had to be speedy, and amazingly, Raphael's dedicated team pulled this fashion magic together in just three hours.

If the end of the world is coming as 2012 believers say, we hope it's as good-looking as this...
