In our humble opinion, Joseph Altuzarra is fast becoming fashion's new go-to man for outerwear.
It's an opinion based on the young New York designer's Fall 2012 collection which has just shown across the pond; defined by the array of beautifully cut coats and jackets which equalled, if not exceeded, his parka-styled coveralls from A/W 2011 in terms of covetability.
Apparently inspired by Hugo Pratt's comic series, Corto Maltese, Altuzarra's winter woman was dressed in a sophisticated and mysterious blend of immaculate tailoring and gypsy prettiness; both of which seem to be editorial and real-life ready.
The styling was great (boots!) the easy chic factor was there (another emerging trademark of Altuzarra's) and from the vibrant party dresses down to the sober peacoats, the collection had a real sense of fresh elegance about it, bound to appeal to all ages.
We loved this.
