Rich texture from a bygone age was the order of the day for L'Wren Scott's Fall 2012 presentation - and frankly - given these lean times - we're in need of a bit of luxurious escapism.
Velvets, satins, silks and tea dress prints came in a surprising and delicious parade of colours; expertly cut as per L'Wren's trademark, into retro bias cut shapes and figure hugging seperates.
We loved the berry red and pale tones combined in a strawberries and cream combo for after dark, whilst the deep pinks, rich greens and a tangerine-tinged yellow all mingled together for a wintry banqueting table type colour palette.
L'Wren's supremely feminine collection was much more glam than the show title of 'Tea Time' suggested it might be, and although this uber womanly, uber expensive looking collection might not be suitable for most civilians (we're not really in need of a full-length velvet evening gown right now) it surely won't stop us coveting those colours.
