A riot of print marched down Mary Katrantzou's catwalk for Fall 2012, but what the London-based designer served up was anything but chaotic.
Tackling print as tailoring, Katrantzou's skill as a designer is in the art of illusion, of shape-forming with colour.
Having said that, she's not too shabby when it comes to producing some wildly inventive and immaculate cuts; which proves her credentials as both a designer, and as careful researcher.
Among the references she reached for this season were Elizabethan England, typewriters, partierres and even pencils.
In sum, technical, technicoloured and above all, very, very clever.
