INTERACTIVE BENCH BY MAPT

Danish architecture firm MAPT have come up with an interesting concept for outdoor seating in collaboration with designer Sune Petersen.

Recently installed in the middle of Copehagen's Island Brygge is this interactive bench which changes colour and pattern as you pass by or sit on it.

An unassuming classic wooden bench by day, when darkness falls between five and ten pm, it's possible to play three different games with it.

One of these is a painting game played by moving your hands over it - and when you've made your masterpiece and walk off, the bench displays your artwork for all to see.

"We've been fascinated with urban spaces that communicate with people for a long time. As a starting point we chose something that was already out there, the benches, and made one of them come to life." say MAPT of the project.

"When people walk past the interactive bench, it lights up and lures with play".
