Alright, we're aware most of you aren't in the market for a huge reception desk, in a huge building with columns, but we'd like to show you this anyway. It's called 'Ring' (for obvious reasons) and designed by Michael Bihain who seems to have a knack for slightly space age objects and architecture.
Based on a strict geometrical shape, the Ring reception desk is devised into two identical modules that surround and enclose, a building’s supporting columns. A suspended veil, placed behind the columns, emphasises the building’s height and separates each different function, whilst providing an ideal place for a variety of information such as a company logo.
It's also a techno-savvy design since it incorporates another desk with internet connection ports into the same shape - centralising IT services. Its appearance entices discovery while allowing passage through and the field of vision to be open. Thus, the desk creates an opening, a curiosity, and a harmonious visual contact.
