Glowing like a little medicinal spaceship, Oaza Zdravlja Pharmacy in Belgrade is a recent interior by flamboyant designer Karim Rashid.
The bold colour choice and rounded shapes make it textbook Rashid, and although it's a fairly small space - at around 45 square metres in size - this didn't stop him from stepping outside the usual realms of rather dull pharmacy interiors.
According to Rashid, the architectural forms and weight of the space reference the intricacies of the human body and healing process, utilising devices such as soft flowing walls and organic shape to create a sense of comfort and security.
Framed by the sweeping curvature of the walls, a simple, yet imposing counter elegantly hovers above the ground plane - symbolic of the journey medication takes through the body’s cellular framework and providing an unmissable focal point to the shop interior.
We kind of like this futuristic, biological concept.
Thoughts?
