The lovely Note Studio have recently finished this new architectural project in Helsinki, Finland, for Swedish coffee roasters Johan & Nyström.
Located on the water's edge in an old port warehouse, the interior of the new concept store blends the history of the building with an inviting warmth and modern eclecticism.
"Instead of trying to compete with the power of the building, we worked in the fixed interior features with its opposite of the light, blond Scandinavian expression." say Note Studio.
Using olive ash for its texture, and brass for its history, depth and credibility, Note Studio also chose to have the key elements in the space stand like islands in the room; ensuring their rounded shapes disable a direct meeting between the counters and walls.
The furniture is a bold mix of patterns and colours which is intended to express the exotic, distant places that Johan & Nyström source their coffee from.
As a whole, the interior provides a heady and inviting experience of scent, taste and visuals.
We like.
