SEAGULL BOUTIQUE INTERIOR BY VIOLET KULEWSKA

Take a look at this recently completed clothing boutique; a collaboration between interior designer Violet Kulewska and artist Adrian Abela.

Situated in the busy shopping district of Hamrun, Malta, the shop is called 'Seagull' thanks to a little help from some avian friends:

"The inspiration came after the first site visit when we heard bird songs coming from the back of the shop." says Kulewska.

Tying the store name to the colour scheme gave the designers a concept for the boutique's striking visual identitity and they fitted the shop out in white, grey and yellow - just like it's namesake bird.

The interior space is defined by multi-use floor to ceiling display and storage units made in plywood, which are arranged in patterns and interspersed with fitting-rooms for clients.

These have been completed with double height yellow fabric; a twist on the idea of a heavy theatre curtain where the client enters a stage.

All in all, a sweet and simple contemporary design.

We like.
