CRAWFORD CREATIVE

Named one of Britain's 30 most influential women by Harpers Bazaar, You might have heard of Creative Director and Designer Ilse Crawford as the founding editor of Elle Decoration UK, but her CV contains an impressive list of projects. Currently occupying the post of head of the department of Man and Well-Being at the Design Academy Eindhoven, She's been Vice President of Donna Karan Home, Creative Director of the Swarovski Crystal Palace Project (where she brought together visionary designers to reinvent the chandelier), .as well as managed to find the time to write two books.
What you you also might not know is that her design studio, Studioilse, is constantly toiling away on some great projects, creating environments that can be 'smelt, heard and felt'. By investing in expressive design that communicates directly in these ways, the studio creates the identity of a brand, and it's emotional values. They then use cross disciplinary skills to realise this vision by implementing creative direction, design strategy, interior design and architecture, product design as well as PR and communication. They believe that a holistic approach is key to a successful product with a unique and long lasting aesthetic.

What this essentially translates into is beautiful, livable interiors that have the utmost care and attention given to them, yet are a million miles away from being stiff or pretentious. Ilse has been decribe as possessing 'a knack for defining the way we want to live', and we couldn't agree more.
