FLUID LIGHTING

FLUID LIGHTING

If you haven't guessed already merely by its looks, this is a new lighting design from architect Zaha Hadid - absolutely trademark Hadid, being all fluid Giger-esque lines and webby organic structure.

Called 'Genesy', and the product of a collaboration between the Zaha and lighting brand Artemide, it's the latest project from the Italian firm who have previously cooperated with some major international designers, including Carlotta de Bevilacqua, Michele De Lucchi, Ross Lovegrove and Karim Rashid. Zaha's lamp structure increases in complexity as it rises from the floor like a growing organism; the central support sprouts branches that adopt a greater radial geometry to enhance the dymanic tensional forces of the structure. Informed by nature, but resolutely futuristic, we're sure this will please her fans.

Artemide introduced the new lamp at this year's Milan Salone del Mobile, as part of the Euroluce 2009 event.
