Italian design studio ToDo exhibited this project at the Milan Salone del Mobile this year, and it's a great concept which turns the useless (and potentially irritating) into something beautiful from afar; and funny close up.
Spam email is the curse of the modern age, flooding inboxes with unsolicited offers of porn material, pirate software, Viagra, illegal financial services and advice on seduction, but ToDo saw it as inspirational, coming up with Spamghetto, a generative software program that creates wallpaper patterns from unwanted texts. Far from the usual florals or woodchip - Spamghetto is not like your grandma’s wallpaper. Provide them with your room’s dimensions, and they can produce a design that wraps and folds around all the objects that sit on the on the wall’s surface.
There's also a Flickr gallery of the project.
